Procedure

Breast reconstruction surgery is performed to restore the bust that was resected due to cancer or other diseases. A new bust is created using either your own tissues from the abdomen or back or by placing a tissue expander and later a breast implant. Breast reconstruction seeks to create a breast with an appearance and shape close to normal. Surgery may be required on the healthy breast to improve symmetry, whether it is a reduction, lift, or placement of a breast implant.
