Bichectomy is a relatively simple alternative in which the surgeon makes a small incision inside the cheeks, locating the Bichat bags, removing them and closing the wound with a small suture. It is a quick procedure that rarely takes more than an hour to perform. Your recovery can take from 3 to 5 days depending on the response of each patient. During the first few days, a soft diet and local application of ice are recommended, avoiding exercise and sun exposure. Once the bags are resected, a definitive result will be observed after the resolution of the inflammation at approximately 2-3 months, observing greater projection of the cheek region and a more stylized appearance of the face.
